Being in love with someone is not some sort of impenetrable armor that keeps you from ever doubting them. If anything, all that emotion makes you MORE likely to act on fear and a sense of betrayal. Eric can believe Nicole would hurt him that way because she's already betrayed him before, hurting him deeply. She's told him over and over that she's not the person he believes she is, that she's not a saint and she's not good. He's been the one telling her she's wrong, so when this happens, and his memories and Kristen's machinations combine to make him think the unthinkable, his reaction is going to be more volatile if he IS having unwanted feelings for Nicole than if he isn't.

Some seem to think his jumping to this wrong conclusion is evidence that he's not repressing any romantic feelings for Nicole. I think the opposite. His rage and pain have done more than anything else to convince me he does.
If Eric can forget so easily that Nicole loved him, chose him over money, was attacked for it, and forced to marry Lucas to try to keep her humiliating underaged filmed rape from becoming common knowledge, than he doesn't deserve Nicole.

JJ to Daniel: "I can see now that I was totally wrong about you."

Well most of us called it... I knew this was happening the minute we heard about the rape being revisited. It was a plot point to lead JJ to disown Jack, and praise Daniel as Salem's Messiah. Maybe to some, we were seen as ridiculous, but this show is way too predictable and I saw it coming a mile away.

How about if he remembers that after she left him for the cash and he tried to move on with someone else, she faked having cancer to lure him back into her life and bed?
